Android Management: New Wi-Fi Profile Now with WPA3 and Extended Configuration Options

The new Android Wi-Fi profile configuration in Cortado MDM is based on the familiar Wi-Fi settings on the devices, supports the current WPA3 security protocols and includes advanced configurations from Android 13.

After introducing some important new Android guidelines for managing Wi-Fi settings back in October, we have now completely renewed the Wi-Fi profile for Android devices. The new Wi-Fi profile configuration in Cortado MDM is completely aligned with the settings that users are familiar with on their end devices.

Support for WPA3 security protocols

The new Wi-Fi profile supports the current WPA3 Personal and Enterprise security protocols as well as the WPA3 Enterprise 192-bit standard for highly secure connections, which has been available since Android 11.

The WPA3 security protocols are now available in the Wi-Fi profile configuration for Android devices.

Advanced configurations from Android 13

At the same time, we are providing new features for devices with Android 13 or higher. All new Wi-Fi profiles can now be supplemented with proxy, MAC and IP settings.

For devices with Android 13 or higher, the Wi-Fi profiles can be supplemented with proxy, MAC and IP settings.

Important note: Existing Wi-Fi profiles should be replaced by the new profiles. There are a few important points to note here. Further information can be found here on our support pages: https://support.cortado.com/en/support/solutions/articles/43000717380
